Art Discussions

The discussion of different works of art is just as important as the art you create. You never know what you may learn from someone else and where it may take you. There is amazing art in the world (past and present). It is your job to find it and share it with everyone.

example:

Around the Cake by Wayne Thiebaud

Wayne Thiebaud creates paintings of cakes and pastries that look good enough to eat. He utilizes texture in the painting so that it mimics the consistency of actual frosting. The thickened stokes protrude off of the painting creating a tactile texture, making the painting look rich and creamy.

Seurat

This painting is very unique.  I love the concept of pointillism used.  Seurat uses pointillism in many of his other paintings.  Seurat makes good use of blending colors.  This one I like best because unlike most other paintings he did, this one doesn't exactly blend together and look extremely smooth.  It gives the painting more of a texture feel and to me, seems more realistic.  My favorite part about this painting is the water.  The different colors used to make it look like that amazes me.  The darkening of certain parts to make it look like a wave or a reflection.  The painting isn't to crowded with things and only has a man in the water and a sail boat.  If he were to add a ton of things going on in the water the picture would be less interesting.

This piece of art caught my attention for many reasons. When I look at a person I am naturally drawn to eyes and in this picture it makes you feel as if the eye itself has a personality. By using bright colors from the rainbow in the center of the picture and dull tans around the outside of the eye, it draws to the point and makes the eye stand out so much more. To me it isn't just a piece of art, it shows emotions and has a powerful feel. Everything about it is extremely abstract and the colors are mesmerizing.

These pots and plates in the picture remind me of Mexico. All of the bright colors send my imagination soaring. I also am intrigued by all the different designs and patterns you can create with paint.

The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali

The painting I choose was “The Persistence of Memory” by Salvador Dali. The colors used and distortion of the clocks is very interesting to me. It seems to represent the irrelevance of time. To me, it is saying that time doesn’t matter especially while you are dreaming.  I wouldn’t be able to come up with this concept no matter how much I used my imagination so I think Dali is a very talented artist. It is also fun to see how certain people interpret different paintings.

Monroe piece by Andy Warhol

This image of Marilyn Monroe is inspirational not only because Marilyn Monroe herself is an inspiration to me, but also because of the color, rhythm, and certain emphasis. The color helps emphasize different points in each frame. For example, in a frame with mostly dark pinks and reds, the extremely light peach colored hair is emphasized and stands out. Each frame has a different attraction point which is pointed out by the colors. The rhythm in the piece is regular because each frame is of the exact same picture, only with different colors. This image is hard to look away from because there are so many different perspectives to see.

Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh

I chose the painting “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh because I think it is just really beautiful. It captures every single detail in the sky that most people wouldn’t notice. Its texture looks like it would be extremely soft if you were to touch it and everything fits in perfectly. Although Van Gogh completed this when he was in a mental institute, I think it is better that way. It is very possible that he could see things that other people couldn’t and that is what makes the painting unique. This is most definitely my favorite painting that I’ve come across.

Mona Lisa by Leonardo Di Vinci

This famous piece of art by Da Vinci was done in oil paints. It is done in fine detail and gives a very lively perception. Being placed in the middle, obviously allows her to be the focal point with a calm scene background, the woman is prominently forward. The curved lines make the woman in the painting appear softer.

Wheat Field with Cypress by Vincent Van Gogh

A Wheat Field with Cypresses was created in 1889 by Vincent Van Goghfocal point.

The Potato Eaters by Vincent Van Gogh

This week I chose Van Gogh’s “The Potato Eaters.” It was one of Van Gogh’s first paintings and although it wasn’t popular in his lifetime, it is extremely popular now. Van Gogh’s goal with this painting was not to make the people look awkward. He wanted them to look natural, like they belonged in their surroundings. He used dark lighting, such as an oil lamp, to light the room and make it look realistic. Van Gogh didn’t believe he accomplished his goal even though others did. I think that this is a very strange painting and I don’t quite understand why it is so popular. The people look awkward because they look as if they are suppose to be in conversation with one another but they aren’t paying any attention to each other, they are too engaged in what they are doing. All in all, I think this is a very weird painting but it has a lot of noticeable detail.

This photograph amazes me.  No one really realizes that when something is dropped this happens.  They don't see natures beauty as much as they should. My favorite part is the water going over or the splash.  It looks so pretty and looks fake because it is so pretty.  Even though the color looks constantly blue I like how the photograph captures some yellow in a reflection.  The ripple in the water helps bring out texture and how realistic it is.

This picture is inspirational because of what the picture is of, sunflowers, and the colors and mood it depicts. The picture has a variety of color from darks to lights and gives the picture a lot of interpretation. Because of the sky and skyline, it looks as if this is never ending.

To start, I love the realistic feature of this piece. The artist really captured an emotion from the tiger. The texture on his nose also really stood out to me. What was most impressing, however, was the tigers within the his stripes on his cheek. This taught me that there is always more than way to look at something and sometimes, an artist's greatest impression can come from the smalllest detail.

STARRY NIGHT by Vincent Van Gogh

I like the painting Starry Night because it really looks like there is a lot of texture in the sky and in the water. I really like the reflection of the lights onto the water because it makes it stand out in the darkness. It seems like the painter used only two colors in the painting, blue and yellow. But, he used many values of each color. I also like the water because it looks like it is moving.

This picture is inspirational to me because of  its contrast and it's imagination. Like the photo splash we worked on this week in class, this picture has very dull colors like white, tan, and black but the flowers are vibrant and stand out. Also the flowers look as if they're taller and bigger than the sand dunes, creating the imagination factor.

Café Terrace at Night by Vincent Van Gogh

This painting depicts a cafe in Arles,France specifically the Cafe Terrace and today the cafe is called Cafe van Gogh. The style of the painting is unique for Van Gogh with warm colors and depth of perspective.  I really like this piece due to the SPACE  element.  The depth makes it pop out at you.

Corner of the Garden at Montgeron by Claude Monet

This famous painting by Monet was created in 1877. Monet is known as the classic impressionist. This painting is drawn in the Corner of the Garden at Montgeron, where Monet has captured the ever-changing nature of light and color.  SPACE and TEXTURE really set this painting from the rest of other paintings.  He captures the scene in a pop out way.

Girl with a Pearl Earring by Jan Vermeer
This painting is a plain portrait of a girl, presumably before her wedding. The lack of background and color showcases her tear drop pearl earrings. CONTRAST and TEXTURE are the elements that come to me at first glance.  The contrast of her light skin and dark back round really make her pop, also the cracking of herself make it seem more vulnerable.

Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh
This is one of the most recognized paintings nowadays. Van Gogh’s Starry Night is a classic painting that invokes emotions from the serenity of the church steeple to the wild abandon of color used for the late night sky.  Once again the TEXTURE of the painting really makes it unique, the way he uses the thick paint is intriguing.

Café at Terrace Night by Vincent Van Gogh

This week I chose another Van Gogh painting, “Café at Terrace Night.” This one is similar to “Starry Night” with the different look of the stars and it is also extremely popular.  It is a colored oil painting and is known for how the very bright stars, draw the audience in. I think the detail in this painting is amazing. People can still go and visit the very spot where Van Gogh set up his easel and painted “Café at Terrace Night.” I think I still like “Starry Night” better but “Café at Terrace Night” is another one of my favorite paintings by Van Gogh.

From the Lake by Georgia O'Keeffe

This painting is called, From the Lake by Georgia O’Keeffe.  When I look at the painting the colors stand out at me. They stand out because there are mostly neutral colors in the painting but, there are primary colors in the painting, which really stand out when you look at it. She used different values of each color in her painting. Also the painting has wavy lines, which gives the painting a sense of movement.

Mickey Mouse by Any Warhol
This painting by Andy Warhol called Mickey Mouse has one thing that really stood out to me. As soon as I saw this picture my eye was drawn right to the emphasis on the tongue. The whole picture is made up of different values of black, except for the tongue which is a bright red, and it really stood out.

Corner of the Garden at Montgeron by Claude Monet

This painting is called Corner of the Garden at Montgeron, by Claude Monet. There are a couple things that I liked about the painting. The painting looks like it has a lot of texture in the trees and the sky, the texture makes the trees look realistic and makes the painting look mare detailed. I also like the highlight in the water because it makes the water stand out and also makes it look like it has more movement.

Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh

I chose this picture because I love the feel of the beautiful out doors when the moon is out. This particular piece of art was done by Vincent van Gogh. He is a very inspiring artist. I think that this picture really shows a lot of color(or shades of color) in the clouds and stars. I think that it is lacking specific details but, that's what makes it such a marvelous piece of art work. The way he made the clouds in the sky bring out the brightness of the stars is rather unique. I hope that someday I can create a picture like this and really be able to show the different shades of colors in my art work to my viewers.

?

This particular object really jumped out to me when I was surfing the web for objects with a lot of texture. I think that this picture shows amazing texture in each and every pedal. Also, the table this particular rose is sitting on is filled with detail and texture. I think that besides the amazing texture and detail it shouts out love. Because as we all know, a rose represents love. That is what makes this picture so inspiring to me.

The picture I chose is a graffiti done wall by an unknown artist. I think that this picture really portrays a good sense of shape. The was they morph an image into a letter is very intriging to me. There are so many different types of graffiti and they take a lot of talent to do. I think the idea of graffiti would be a very cool concept to learn and a good lesson about shape and how to distribute it evenly amoung paper. This picture also shows a alot of different colors which I think makes it much better. Because if all graffiti were done in black and white it would give it no personality at all.

I chose this particular one because as we all know it is fall, and the trees and leaves out side are beautiful. These leaves show a good sense of lines. The way the veins in the leaves bring out their real texture is great. Also the way they mixed straight lines with curved lines really adds to the picture.

One thing I really admire about this picture is the lighting. The sun shining through the trees really gives a cool effect to the ice. The first thing I notice when I look at the picture is the texture and shadowing on the glimmering ice. It also reminds me of me and my dad skating outside on my lake in the winter as a kid, and it brings back so many beautiful memories.

This picture looks so realistic, it almost gives me the feeling that I'm personally looking out the window myself. I love the mood this picture give me. Its dark and deep almost depressing but also refreshing in a way. Right after a big storm just passed this is the image I see in my head. The clouds in the bottom look so inviting, like there ready to open up and the sun will sneak through them at any minute.

I loveeeee this picture. Instantly when I look at it I get flashbacks of my long, lazy days I spent on the beach this summer. On the art side of this picture the texture is great. Every little grain of sand is apparent the closer you get. All the different colors of the sand make it very inviting. The footprints have really nice shadowing as well. Its intriguing how the footprints start at the top of the page and draw your eyes down. This image does not have much complexity but I think it makes a strong statement, and gives me many warm feelings.

In this picture the lines create the dog. The lines are there to show that the dog has fur and to show how short or long its hair is.

Stippling creates form by use of value. It shows the form of the dog and the different textures of its fur.

Wave like forms are being used for this drawing.  This picture makes me feel depressed because the darkish gray colors along with the interaction of the shapes.

Larger brush strokes create value because they are larger in contrast to the small lines in her face.

Mary Cassatt

I love that Mary Cassatt paints pictures of mother and their children.  It really shows she cares for her child.  I like the old fashion look to the clothing, the carpet, and how the child is getting its' feet cleaned.  The dull colors bring out the old fashion look in the painting.  The painting is detailed in some parts but still looks simple.

Vincent Van Gogh

He uses colors to make sure we know the flowers are dying.  The background is smile and really brings out the purpose of the painting which is the flowers.  I like the texture and colors of the flowers.  It looks like he uses one color but different shades of it.  Sort of monochromatic.

I love this.  It looks so real and realistic.  I can't believe how spherical the ball looks and everything it the ball.  It is a perfect drawing of the reflection. The shadows in the drawing really bring out the definition of the hand.  And the mans face in the ball is priceless. I love it!

This is so crazy how he made it look like the hands were coming out of the drawing.  I would not be able to do this.  I love the shadowing.  It is cool that it looks like the hands are drawing each other.  It goes from simple to super detailed with the hands.  They even drew 2 different hands, a left hand and a right.  I can't believe how 3-D it looks.  I feel as if i can reach out and touch it.  Amazing.

To start, I think the artist did a perfect job with capturing the texture of the grass. I think the simple colors of the green grass and blue sky compliment each other very well, and the add nice contrast to the picture. I also love the creativity the artist put into this piece of art. Combing the two images of the hill and the face.

Since the flower is the only color part of this photograph, and the rest is black and white, it really attracts the eye's attention and makes itself the main focal point. Also the rain on the pedals shows the smooth texture of the flower.

I like this drawing because it is very unique. Since it is black and white, you can see a lot of contrast and a lot of values very easily. The shadows under the eye also help to show the wrinkley texture of the skin.

This horse racing pictures is by Laurie Breton Her beautiful, colorful and exciting pictures bring out the reality of true live horse racing. She brings out the color in her painting.

This pond hockey picture is by Carole Spandau. The picture brings out the value of her painting.

This painting is by Vincent Van Gogh. The painting has warm colors and brings out the depth in his art work.

This picture is by Leonardo da Vinci. The Mona Lisa is the world’s most famous painting. In this painting he uses color, Although the colors are dull, red, yellow, and blue are used throughout the piece to add color, and balance.

This picture reminds me of when we went outside and were doing the water colors over the lake.  The reflection of the sun is the main focal point I notice right away. There is also a lot of refection of the trees and scenery around the ridge of the water.  The other thing I admire about this picture is how it doesn’t have a lot of color but where there is color it has a big impact. All the background trees and shrubs are black, and all that is left is the bright yellow sun and the orange sky. Last, around the sun there are clouds fading into the sunset. It shows the clouds by the streaks of yellow. It goes to show you, you don’t have to paint or draw a picture with blue clouds to show their there.
I absolutely love this picture. I think the quote above it speaks a million words.  And for all the drawings below I think it has a big effect on quote above by elaborating on it.  It kind of has the effect of graffiti does, by catching your eye. Also the different drawings and colors come together as one work of art. It shows you don’t have to be the best at drawing scenery’s or people, just by sketching a bunch of mini pictures and quotes and bringing them together into one work of art can be beautiful.

One element this picture has is shape. One of the shapes that are in the picture are circles. I think this picture has some free flowing shapes and geometric because its not just shapes it has other designs in it.  This picture makes me feel relaxed and calm because the colors go together well and are peaceful.
American Gothic by Grant Wood
This week I choose Grant Wood’s American Gothic. This is a painting of Wood’s dentist and his sister but is meant to look like a farmer and his unmarried daughter. The painting is a prime example of Regionalism and opposes abstract art, which is what makes it so popular. It also has become part of American popular culture. The painting is also used in a bunch of parodies today. When I first saw this painting, I thought it was a married couple so I was surprised to learn about what it really was. I like how modern this painting is since I am not a big a fan of abstract art.

Corner of the Garden at Montgeron by Claude Monet

This famous painting by Monet was created in 1877. Monet is known as the classic impressionist. This painting is drawn in the Corner of the Garden at Montgeron, where Monet has captured the ever-changing nature of light and COLOR.

This piece is inspirational because of the use color and movement. Both of those elements work together to draw your attention to the middle of the painting and make your eyes work their way outwards. The piece has a happy feel to it because of the bright colors.

This photo shows different focuses and color. Even though to background is all gray, only some of the feathers are actually in focus and grab the attention at first glance. The colors are all calm and only the blues stand out to the others.

From the Lake by Georgia O'Keeffe

This week I choose “From the Lake” by Georgia O’Keeffe. It was painted in the early 1900’s and the inspiration came from Lake George, New York. The painting describes the gentle ripples and waves of Lake George.  The colors in this painting are really beautiful. Although, I’m not usually a fan of abstract paintings, I really like this one. With all the colors O’Keeffe chose, it makes this painting amazing.  I can see the actually ripples from the lake and that is my favorite part.

Impression Sunrise

This week I chose the painting, “Impression Sunrise” by Monet.  The light colors mixed with the bright sun, show emphasis on the sunrise. Monet wanted the many focus to be the sunrise and nothing else. Everything else is just a background to the sun. I like this painting but I would rather have some of the colors be a little darker. I know that he wants the focus to be on the sun but everything just blends in with each other and I think it would look better if they didn’t blend. Other than that, I really like this painting because it is showing something truly beautiful that most people overlook.

I absolutely love this picture.  The colors are wonderful and I love rainbows.  I love when colors run together and make these colors. For example when the pink slowly turns to purple. The blending is beautiful.  The icebergs add beauty to the water.  I also like how on one side of the rainbow its a darker purple and the other side is a lighter pink.  It really brings both warm and cool colors in the picture.  The colors are amazing.

This picture is so unique. I think in class it would be fun to draw something like this.  I admire how the light shines through the bottle and you can see all the grains of sand stuck on the bottle.  This picture has great texture I also feel like I’m lying in the sand myself and seeing this image. By placing the bottle in front and then having the runner in the back provides really nice layering and depth. I wonder if the drop falling on the persons head symbolizes something? Overall I think this picture is amazing.

Scream

This week I chose the painting “Scream” by Edvard Munch. Munch is a Norwegian, who was known for his expressionist paintings and print.  The painting describes a sunset that suddenly filled the sky with blood red colors. The sunset took place in Norway, while Munch was walking a pier, when he noticed the blood red sky. I really like the style of this painting. The style reminds me a little bit of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” I also really like to colors that Munch used.  However I don’t like the guy screaming in the painting. I understand it is suppose to represent how Munch felt when he saw the sunset but I don’t like it.

When Dreams Come True

This week I chose a painting by Lenoid Afremov called “When Dreams Come True.” In order to paint this painting, Afremov, used a palette knife and oil paint. Afremov’s work has been greatly influenced by contemporary cityscape painter and modern impressionist Michael Flohr. I really like the style of painting that Afremov. I looked through most of his painting and I loved all of them. All of the colors and details are amazing. I love this painting.

My favorite animal is a dolphin so that is the first reason why i love this picture.  I love sunsets and water so the picture is beautiful. The reflection of the sun down the middle of the water is pretty.  The colors they blended really added to the effect of the picture.  The sky in the background adds to the beauty too.  The texture of the water make it look real.  All though the dolphins aren't that detailed we can still tell what they are.

This piece of art done by Margaret Hamlin does a nice job of balancing color while still being exciting to the eye. With all the colors, this piece is able to harmonize.

This photo is a great shot of cars moving at night time. With a slow shutter speed, the photographer was able to catch the movement of the cars. The lights are blurred to show a period of time.

This photo is very appealing to the eye. Full of bright warm colors, the intensity of this photo is quite high. The circles also allow for some pattern in the foreground while splatter makes up the background.

This picture seems to primarily focus on texture. The texture of the paintbrush differs from the texture of the paint and the leaves a texture on the paper.

In this photo, the artist edited it so that it has a clear focal point. The looker is drawn to the vibrant pink of the lily pad where as the rest of the photo is dark and dull.

In this famous painting by Van Gogh, there seems to be lots going on but I cant help but look at the large green structure in the front, also known as the focal point. Also, there is a very nice depiction of a 3D place while still being somewhat abstract.

In this piece of traditional African art, there is a nice balance of color. With mostly warm colors, the vivid dark colors nicely offset them. Also in this, is a certain pattern in which the women are arranged.

This picture done with pencil shows quite a lot of contrast. Although only done with pencil, it is still able to show the shades of the picture depicted.

I thought that this tree was very unique. I love the way that they have many different objects inside of one. I think it would cool to try and do something like this. Also I love images that don't have exact shape, and don't always look real.

I ran across this online and thought it was very interesting in many ways. It does a great job of showing a city falling apart as well as show great detail in the hands. I enjoy black and white pictures and especially like this one.

Eli Helman uses black pen to create his artwork. His use of pattern throughout his drawings create different shapes and values. The patterns also create movement throughout the picture, expressionistically within the dragon's tongue.

Juan Sanchez Cotan's still life captures different shades and values within the picture. His line variation and thickness differential makes the fruit appear 3-d.

?

This artist uses oil to create his picture. The white dress on the lady provides a focal point for the viewer. Also the lightening of the watercolor, as the image gets closer to the edge provides the effect of the sun shining upon the character.

Marcus Wills won the Australian Archibald Prize with this portrait. "The Paul Juarez Monolith", was inspired by the sculptor Paul Juraszek. His unique patterns of faces with in faces create texture. This pattern also allows for the viewer to focus on the large face and then notice the several smaller faces that went into creating the artwork.

M-J de Mesterton created this painting through oils. Her use of bold colors draws attention to the picture. She then uses line and shape to focus on the green and red gem in the upper center area. Through shading she creates the appearance of three-dimensional rocks.

?

Bruce Browun uses organic form to produce this shield. Along with organic form he also uses organic shapes. This provides depth throughout the painting. Browun creates a focal point through the large circle in the center, and the lines radiating out from this centralized location.

Leonardo uses line variation to create 3-d form. He makes the hands appear as though they are jumping from the page. His shading provides for a more realistic hand shape. Leonardo's shading of the whole hand provides focus in an otherwise messy background.

I think what I really admire about this picture is the shadowing over the water, the refection is beautiful and reminds me of the sunset over my lake at home. I like pictures you can relate yourself too, and really picture yourself in them looking out at whatever it may be. I also like how the colors fade in from pink to purples to a light blue in the middle it looks photo shopped in a way and gives a very cool illusion. The tree line itself is also pretty how there all a little bit different, and you can see the lines and branches all the variety and mass in between each one. There isn’t much texture to the water and sky and I think that would add also more to the overall show of the picture if there was.

“ The Kiss”  created by Gustav Klimt
I love all the depth and texture in this work of art. All the geometric patterns add so much detail to the picture. The couple kissing really captures a romantic moment also with a whimsical feel with all the flowers and swirls and shapes. I think its really neat that they only show their faces, and the woman's feet its very unexpected and gives the picture a very unique look. The bright, cheerful colors and flowers, remind me of so much happiness. The lines and shapes really do define this image and all its textures and contrast.

Fur Traders Descending The Missouri
I chose the painting “Fur Traders Descending the Missouri” by George Caleb Bingham. Bingham was an American artist in the 1800s, who mostly painted about American life in the frontier lands along the Missouri River.  He painted in a Luminist style, which was the landscape style of the 1850s-1870s. In the “Fur Traders Descending the Missouri,” I like how boldly the people and their canoe stand out. There is some detail in the background but it is clear that the people are the main attraction. However, I don’t really like Luminism, it just seems kind of boring to me.

This picture has a lot of color. It makes the picture flow and shows what goes with what.
This pictures texture is smooth, rough and glossy because where it is darker and sadder it is more rough and it is glossy where the waterfall is and to the right where it is more bright is where it is smooth and more calm. The value is both light and dark it has many colors and is expressing good and evil. The line it is made with or what the object was drawn with I think a paint brush or air brush because of the way it flows and how it is glossy by the waterfall.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f1/Juan_de_Juanes_002.jpg

This oil painting created by Juan de Juanes creates a three-dimensional effect. The artist uses line variation to show that the cup is in front of the man. He also shades the top of the photo to create the effect that the tent is folded over. This makes it appear as though the top of the tent is in front of the back of the tent.

?

Leonardo da Vinci creates the appearances of a rough texture. The hands also appear to come off the page, like you could actually hold them if you wanted to. This geometric form makes the hands come to life.

Vincent Van Gogh uses line variation to create many different texture feelings though the painting. He also uses bright colors against a dark background to create a focal point. By doing this he ties the whole piece together.

http://www.toptenz.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/portrait-of-dr-gachet-325x400.jpg

Vincent Van Gogh painted this the month before he committed suicide. The painting shows a melancholy expression, sad but gentle. The use of lines is evident in every part of this picture, from the wallpaper to the suit to the flowers. This allows for easier movement, never getting drawn into one spot for too long.

Beach at St. Annes

The painting “Beach at St. Annes” by Claude Monet is one of Monet’s many paintings of various beaches. Monet was a landscape painter and mostly did paintings of beautiful beaches that he came across. I think that this painting is really pretty. It is just so simple and elegant. It makes the beach look like absolute paradise.

            The Large Pine

The painting “The Large Pine’ by Paul Signac was painted in the late 1800s. The painting represents a tree that used to be next to Signac’s family vacation home. He loved the tree so much that he decided to paint it. I really like this painting because it is beautiful. I love how amazing the tree looks and the small details that Signac used.

I like how creative this is and colorful.  It gets your thinking about all the spirals and where it goes. The colors make you more confused.  I like the way it all comes together even though there is so many different parts to the artwork.  The different sizes of the spirals add variety to the over all look of the image.  I think the image is very creative.

This is another colorful photo.  The color and the brush strokes add movement to the horse and make it look like the 2 horses are in motion. The color makes it look like the one in front is the female and the one in back is the male.  The background doesn't take away from the horses. If anything it brings out the horses more. The brush strokes also give the horse texture like its fur and real.

I wanted to pick something different to describe for the next ones.  I love 3D chalk artworks.  I love it because i could never in my life make it come out like this.  The colors they blended and the creativity is amazing. I like how it looks like he is in the boat in the stream but actually not.  It can be confusing to look at but the details in the chalk work are amazing.

This one is even better than the first. The water fall looks so real.  I just think its crazy how people can make things look so 3D and half the time i can't make mine look 2D and good. The people add extra effect to the realistic look of it. The rocks are even detailed.  My favorite part of it is the water splashing off the rocks on the fall.  So pretty, real and detailed.

I chose graffiti this time.   like it before of the colors chosen and because I couldn't ever write like this. Entails tons of time and effort to do. And some people are just natural at it and used to writing like this.  I can't do that.  I like the colors because it isn't common colors people put together. Pink, silver, red, orange and blue wouldn't be colors i put together but this looks good together for sure.  I love graffiti.

I did a piece of photography that I thought was really cool for this week. I really like how the artist help up the glass ball and it magnified the buildings in color. I am not sure who took this photo or the name of it but I really like it.
